Essential Information for the 2007/2008 School
Year:
1. First
Day of School:
Classes at GMTCC will begin on Tuesday, August 28 for all
GMTCC students. By beginning on Tuesday, students will be
able to attend high school orientation activities Monday.
Contact your high school for a schedule of these activities.
Classes begin at 8:20 AM and end at 1:30 PM.
2. Construction!
Construction! Construction!
Due to ongoing construction, program room
locations have changed. All students, except those in the
Forestry Program, will report to the Construction Technology
building on Tuesday at 8:20 AM. There will be a short
orientation meeting to clarify room locations and other issues
caused by the construction work. Forestry Program students
should report to the new facility at 433 Main Street in
Hardwick.
3. First
Day – Free Lunch:
All students will have the privilege of attending the annual
GMTCC barbecue that includes grilled hot dogs, veggie burgers,
and more. This is a good way to end the school day.
4. Food
Service:
A typical school lunch now costs $2.75 and is served in the
school cafeteria. Applications for free/reduced can be
attained at the home high school or the GMTCC office. Do this
on the first day!
5. Closed
Campus:
For safety reasons, students are not permitted to leave campus
during lunch time, or any other time during the school day,
without permission from the director.
6. Dress
Code:
At GMTCC, all shirts and tops must have sleeves, cover the
torso, and not be low cut. Clothing with references to
alcohol, other drugs, tobacco, sexual innuendo, and other
vulgarities is prohibited.
7. Operating
a motor Vehicle:
Parking on the school campus is a privilege. Any one that
drives dangerously on school grounds will lose the privilege
to park on school grounds.
8. Cell
phones and MP3 Players:
The non-essential use of these items is prohibited.
Exceptions are made by program.
9. Forms:
Make sure all enclosed forms are filled out and returned
promptly.
