The Multimedia
& Design program focuses on communication in a digital
world with an emphasis on art and design. Students
develop skills in graphic and interactive design,
desktop publishing, website production, and digital
video production. A variety of media, including film and
television, are critically explored. Training includes
digital imaging, vector based drawing, basic video
production, creating animation, designing for
publication and the Internet, career exploration and
more. The program prepares graduates for entry level
positions in layout and design, digital production and
for advanced training at the college level.
Students
receive hands-on training in GMTCC's state-of-the-art
multimedia MAC lab. Students use a variety of creative
computer applications to gain valuable industry level
skills with software such as Adobe PhotoShop,
Illustrator, and After Effects, Quark Express,
Macromedia Flash and Dreamweaver and Final Cut Pro.
Desirable
Qualifications: Creativity, artistic flare,
comfortable with computers, good foundation in grammar,
spelling and punctuation, and patience.
