School Counselors
To provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program addressing the career and college, academic and personal/social development of all students. In partnership with program instructors and home high schools all students will explore high skill and high wage careers and post-secondary education opportunities through a comprehensive and coordinated system of individual and group learning experiences.
We all know that there are students who know what they want to do; however, there are many more who remain undecided. GMTCC provides career counseling, college credits and professional certifications. Students can attend online, part-time, and full-time.

How many credits can I earn at GMTCC?
Students can earn 6 credits in their program. 5 credits of electives and 1 embedded credit in Math, Science, English, or Fine Arts.
How long is the school day at GMTCC?
GMTCC programs are full day. Classes begin at 8:20 and end each day at 1:30.
How do I get in?
The admissions requirements for GMTCC is as follows:
- Students must demonstrate a clear and reasonable path to high school graduation that includes: 2 English credits, 2 Math credits (1 credit of algebra), 2 Science credits, 2 Social Studies credits, and 2 Elective credits.
- Demonstrate a pattern of safe behavior and consistent attendance at school
- Complete a successful daylong program visit.
** All acceptances are conditional based on students earning the minimum required credits for admission into GMTCC.
If I do not have the required credits can I still apply to GMTCC?
If a student does not demonstrate a clear and reasonable path to graduation, by earning enough credits, they may have to successfully complete a summer school course at LUHS or Hazen Union in order to be accepted into a program.
If I go to GMTCC can I still participate in my home high schools events?
Yes. Even though you attend our school you are still a member of your home high school in every other way. You can attend dances, play sports, act in plays, etc.
What do students who attend GMTCC do after graduation?
In 2010-2011 88% of seniors went on to work in a job related to the field they studied at GMTCC or went on to post-secondary education- 4-year college, 2-year community college, and certificate programs.
