Small Engines & Welding
Students will learn through theory and hands-on training to diagnose and repair small engines and perform tests to determine faults within an engine system. Applications include 2 & 4-cycle engines, heavy equipment, gasoline and diesel engines, maintenance and repair. Students will also be taught the maintenance and operation of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. In the welding segment, students will have the opportunity to learn the basic skills necessary for entry-level employment in the field. Areas covered in welding are MIG, TIG Brazing, Soldering, Gas Welding, Gas Cutting, and Stick Welding. Safety, proper tool use, leadership, and interpersonal skills are inter-woven throughout the course.
Students can test for the AWS welding and the Stihl Vo-tech certifications.
